Yes, both teams are now tied in the hockey playoffs for the Stanley Cup. So what does this mean?
It is going to be a long and exciting series.
Everybody knows which team that I am a fan of so I’m not going to pimp their skills while badmouthing the other team. For both hockey clubs to get this far in the playoffs, it speaks for itself. Luck, talent, and passion for the game brought these two teams together. Eventually they will proclaim a winner. The loser will go home with thoughts of reaching the playoffs next year.
This is the way of hockey, or any professional sport, where the players push their minds and bodies to the extremes for their games. And then, if you as a fan can be lucky, you will bear witness to that rare moment when a player who has reached his limit will push past every boundary within themselves and find the extra bit of strength needed to win.
That’s when a player becomes a legend.
Win or lose - this is why I watch (or listen) to the game.
I'm kinda pulling for your Penguins this time around. Although Crosby has the worst playoff "beard" ever.

ReplyDeleteChris: Yeah, his playoff beard is... interesting. But what can you expect from a 21-year old?
ReplyDeleteYou know we'll be rooting for the home team ! :o)
ReplyDeleteGO PENGUINS!
ReplyDeleteRuth and Theresa: Yay, go Pens! Oh wait... sniffle. They lost yesterday 5-0. Come on, Pens!
ReplyDeleteYour general thoughts on the playoffs are well-said and well taken. It's just your allegiances that are suspect and/or misplaced. :D <=== That's a BIG-assed grin.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking Tuesday just might be a painful experience for you. Again. It's gotta hurt to watch the Other Guys skate around YOUR rink with The Cup held high. OTOH... I might have to take this comment back IF there's a Game Seven and IF your Flightless Birds prevail. (Insert yet another big-assed grin here)
Buck: No reason for me to not root for the home team. I'm just lucky I live in southwestern Pa and not somewhere in the middle where I would have to choose between the Pens and the Flyers.
ReplyDeleteWhoever wins, wins!
Yay Red Wings!
ReplyDelete***pleasedon'thurtme!***

ReplyDeleteSigh... only my dumb luck. Hee-hee! Thanks for stopping by!
"Sarah: Oh, NOOO! Are you telling me I have 2 REDWINGS FANS VISITING MY BLOG!"
ReplyDeleteWe're everywhere! We're EVERYWHERE! :D
Buck: Yeah, like cockroa... never mind. I'll be nice.
ReplyDeleteCue up Neil Young: "Tonight's the Night!" :D
ReplyDeleteBuck: No, it's actually Friday! Mwahahahaha!
