It’s hockey season once again!
This will be the last year the Stanley Cup Champions Pittsburgh Penguins play in the Mellon arena before moving to their new home, Consol Energy Center. The preseason game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Columbus Blue Jackets took place. Who won? Who cares! It’s hockey season. It’s here. Let’s enjoy it while we can!
By the way, the Penguins won in overtime: 5-4. Yay! GO PENS!
Hehe, Michele, this was fun! I was so eagerly waiting for "what time" has come.;))
ReplyDeleteYou would love living in Scandinavia where hockey is a very popular sport.;))
I think we should have a three-way.
ReplyDeleteOh, I suppose I should explain. I mean you, me, and Buck.
Oh, further explanation? I mean a BET on the upcoming season. Whoever's team wins the cup (Pens, Bruins, or Wings) gets something nice from the other two folks. Whaddaya say?
Hey, Michelle, and Suldog, can a Devils fan get in on some of that action?
ReplyDeleteOh, and the bet too?
Protege: If I lived in Scandinavia, I would be in hockey heaven. :-)
ReplyDeleteSuldog & Chris: So, you guys want me to have a three-way (make that four-way) with a bear, a devil, and whatever a redwing is? That's just so sick. How horny do you guys think I am?
Oh, wait. You mean with you guys. Hmmm, I am single, and willing to try just about anything once although I would have to arrange travel plans. But I could have sworn that one of you is married?
Okay... yeah... betting on hockey... well, that's disappointing.
Um... sure, I'm game despite my middle name being "person with bad karma who never wins at anything in life" (maybe I shouldn't have mentioned that). Anyhow, we'd have to work out the details on what the "something nice" is going to be...
Well, if you're all that into Scandinavian hockey, you should just follow the Wings, eh?
ReplyDeleteSee ya in June. . .
Wow, no fair. Suldog got the comment in before I could. I thought I was the resident flirt commentor on this blog :)
ReplyDeleteSorry, Eric!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I forgot about that Devils guy. Make it a four-way. Or, if Eric has a team, a five-way!
I have no idea what the prize should be. Maybe some sort of bloggy humiliation, like having to put the winner's logo on your blog for a week, while simultaneously extolling the virtues of the blogger who won? Something along those lines. Or naked photos.
Desmond: Nice try... GO PENS!
ReplyDeleteEric: You had to have been blogging last year to have one-upped Suldog. But hey, I don't mind. I'm single. The more - the merrier. (I'm so going to regret that last line.)
Suldog: Again with the naked photos!
Well, I suppose we still have time to work out the details. I don't mind actual prizes, or blogger extolling, or whatever. Right now, I guess it all depends on how many people want in on this. Once that's decided, we can work out the other stuff.
Suldog - Yeah I can't say I'm a fan of hockey, though I guess I'd be cheering on the Avs if I were. Eh, maybe not. Although I live here in Denver (and have most of my life), I'm not a fan of any of the local teams.
ReplyDeleteMichelle - I understand. Oh, and I definitely will remember that line.
Cmon evybody, chant with me. Naked Photos! Naked Photos! Naked...
Bah... You Americans and your hockey obsession. We Canadians woundn't even know the season had started without a reminder ;)
ReplyDeleteGuess ya'll feel about hockey the way I feel about my CC kids. This is the best time of the year.
ReplyDeleteCoach O
Wheeeeeeeee, call out the Zambonie! Being from the deep deep south, I mighta spelled that wrong. I'll admit, attending a few Kingfish hockey games really was a hoot. :)
ReplyDeletei've never been to a hockey game but i keep being told how much fun they are in person. one of these days...
ReplyDeleteDeep Blu: Yanno, you're the second Canadian who has mentioned the same sentiment before. I thought hockey was born and bred and the national icon of Canada. I go absolutely crazy every time this year when hockey season arrives.
ReplyDeleteCoach O: I do get excited! Love this time of year.
Angie: There isn't anything like seeing a hockey game, or so I've been told. Can't wait to see my first actual one. (btw- between you and me, you did misspell Zamboni but I forgive you! :-) )
Lime: We're in the same boat. I want to go to one, just never been able to yet...
Eric: OMG! You started a CHANT!?! Next thing I know, you'll be bouncing around pom-pons...
ReplyDeleteNo, Eric. I'm not bouncing my pom-pons for you...
Wait a minute. . .
ReplyDeleteYou're goin' all 'GO PENS!' on us, and you've NEVER EVEN BEEN TO A GAME!?!?!
I am so disappointed, Michelle. Terribly, terribly disappointed. . .
Desmond: I've been to games, in my heart. That has to count for something...
ReplyDeleteI said almost the same thing last week...Yes, it's football season. Yahoo! May we both enjoy our perspective sports. Go Eagles!
ReplyDeleteTheresa: Hey, football or hockey, it's all good. So long as you show pride in your team.
ReplyDeleteI know nothing of hockey, Michelle. :-D
ReplyDeleteWhew, finally got some downtime and can get caught up here. We echo your sentiments Michelle . . . GO PENS !!!
ReplyDeleteDemon Hunter: WHAT! For shame... find yourself the nearest rink and watch them pound on each other.
ReplyDeleteRuth and Glen: Have a good break. GO PENS!!!
Good luck to your team! I have never really watched a hockey game, but it sounds fun!
ReplyDeletexoox, Shelly
Shelly: Thank you! And thanks for stopping by and commenting!
