What I Did On My Birthday On Sunday

Absolutely nothing. Well, not nothing. Nobody can do nothing. Even if you are sitting in a chair staring at a wall, you're still SITTING and STARING, which means you are doing things. Even when you die, you're still doing something. You're being dead, the opposite of being living. People may claim you are not being very productive. But you're dead, so I doubt you care what they think.

Anyway, I planned a day of relaxation. I did most of my work on Saturday, and scheduled the rest to do on Monday. I bathed The Overlord and myself. Then we laid back and watched the hockey game where the Pittsburgh Penguins walloped the Boston Bruins 5 to 2. Afterword, my buzzer rang.

A friend of mine picked up Chinese food/birthday cake for me to celebrate the special occasion. They handed the food to me with two birthday cards. One was from my friend. The other... well...

The other was addressed to "Mom." I opened the envelope and found this wonderful card for me from The Overlord. I promptly gave her a kiss as we enjoyed Chinese food and birthday cake and the company of each other for the entire evening.

So although it seems like I didn't do anything on my birthday, I did do a lot. It was quite a wonderful day!

  1. Sounds like a perfectly peaceful birthday to me. As I get older, that sounds better to me than a huge party with all kinds of people. Happy Belated Bday!

  4. Oh, No! I forgot it was your birthday! I would have sent a card, at least... :-(

Well, I was bumming about the Penguins beating my Bruins, but now I feel better about it because it was your birthday gift! :-)

  5. No worries about the card. Your comments brighten my day, everyday. While I'm happy the Penguins won, I'm sorry your Celtics lost. I caught the last few minutes of an exciting game.
